Small Businesses Programs

Idaho small businesses are the lifeblood of our communities and the backbone of our State’s economy.

To combat the increased burden on small businesses as they respond to coronavirus, the state is utilizing US CARES Act to provide direct relief via the Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF) for expenditures “related to the provision of grants to small businesses to reimburse the costs of business interruption caused by the required closure.”  Cities can utilize a portion of their appropriated funds to support small businesses through the municipal small business grant. Businesses may also request back to work bonuses for any employee that was negatively impacted by Coronavirus which resulted in being laid off to return to the workplace and support Idaho’s rebound efforts.

Local, State, and Tribal Community Support Grant
The US CARES Act provided direct relief for local communities through the use of Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF). These funds allowed state, local, and tribal communities access to support to ensure each organization can respond accordingly to the health crisis.

To ensure the state can consider re-prioritizing any funds that will be unspent, local governments must submit their pre-authorization and reimbursement requests to SCO no later than close of business December 11, 2020.
